Those who love Ludwig, but not winding it, are in luck: We now make this classic NOMOS watch with the self-winding Epsilon caliber, built in-house in Glashutte. A beautiful watch: a little larger (and thus a tick more modern) than the hand-wound classic, but with the same Roman-numbered dial. Underneath it, the rotor steadily works away, keeping time.
Ref. 251 is powered by the Epsilon movement; ref. 271 is similar though powered by the Zeta movement, providing it with a date window. Ref. 252 and 272 have anthracite dials.
The automatic Epsilon caliber ticks inside Tangomat, Club Automat, Ludwig Automatik, Ahoi and Zurich. It was our first automatic caliber, the one that won NOMOS Glashutte the accolade of ?manufactory? in 2005. As usual, NOMOS Glashutte has added a shot of modernity to Glashutte tradition. The caliber's bidirectional winding rotor works perfectly and the whole movement has an exquisitely accurate rate.
