The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar Sapphire embodies the finest Swiss watchmaking in every detail. The high complication of the perpetual calendar always displays the correct date without needing to be corrected by hand, including for months with less than 31 days and for leap years. It is easily regulated by 4 individual pushers. Faceted hands in the classical dauphine shape combine with faceted appliques of different lengths and an applied Roman numeral ?XII?. The smoked sapphire dial highlights the technicality of this grand complication. For a clearer view of the mechanism, the sapphire crystal features light grey at the center while the outer edge is a darker shade to ensure perfect readability of the minuterie. Among the silvery-white subdials that provide the full calendar indications, the spectacular moon-phase display stands out with an inventive illustration of the lunar phases. As the twofold golden moon travels across a starry sky, its waxing or waning crescents are created through partial shading from the darker sapphire crystal on the lower section of the subdial.
