The IWC Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar 'A Tribute to the 1st IWC Pilot's Watch' reference IW5038-02 is a limited edition of 36 pieces created for the Benelux and Scandinavian market in 2016. It features a red gold case and an ardoise (grey) dial with sunburst finish. The tips of various pointers are done in orange, while it is fitted with a blue alligator strap. The number of characters in its full name (Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition 'A Tribute to the 1st IWC Pilot's Watch', 72 characters excluding spaces) divided by two is 36, which explains the number of pieces produced.
Movement
Introduced in 2015, the 52610 is the latest version of IWC's 7-day power reserve perpetual calendar movement. Its movement notably sports twin barrels and a solid gold rotor. Contrary to the 52615 it has a single moonphase.
