Description
Chopard presents a sporty timepiece dedicated to the Mille Miglia classic car race, for which it has been serving as partner and official timekeeper since 1988. In 2015, the model embodying the legendary spirit of the famous Italian competition is equipped for the very first time with a Chopard in-house movement certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Inspired by the speed machines having taken part in ?la corsa pi bella del mondo? between 1940 and 1957, the Mille Miglia 2015 Race Edition bears a power-reserve indicator reminiscent of a petrol gauge, along with a flaming ?Rossa Corsa? red dial and oversized numerals evoking typical 1950s dashboards. This exclusive edition is issued in limited series of 100 in rose gold.
Movement
Crafted in Chopard's very own Fleurier Ebauches workshops, the self-winding Chopard Caliber 01.08-C is chronometer certified by the COSC and boasts a frequency of 28,800 v.p.h. Powering a 60-hour power reserve and equipped with a stop-seconds function, it displays the hours, minutes, seconds, a power-reserve indicator and date with the exquisite accuracy that is Chopard's hallmark.
